Vincent Fert has a master’s degree in immunology of the University of Marseilles, France.
Prior to founding Ipsogen in 1999, Vincent Fert held different executive positions at Immunotech. He was first responsible for R&D, then license acquisition and business development.
Vincent is the author of 15 scientific publications and 9 patents. After Immunotech was acquired by Beckman-Coulter (USA), in 1996, Vincent joined the ‘Advanced Technology Centre’ in Brea, CA where he led technology research projects.
In 1999, with Industry managers, scientists and physicians, Vincent founded Ipsogen, Marseilles, France to develop and market innovative diagnostic tools in order to tailor cancer treatments. Stéphane Debono, Chief Operating Officer, cofounder
Stéphane Debono graduated at ESIM (now the Ecole Centrale Marseille) with a specialization in industrial computer science.
Prior to co-founding Ipsogen in 1999, Stéphane Debono worked as a bioinformatics scientist and manufacturing engineer at Beckman Coulter, Immunotech for 2 years.
After 6 years as CTO in Bioinformatics and Administrative Manager, Stéphane is currently COO of the Company, being responsible for the development, design, and improvement of the systems that create and deliver Ipsogen SA and Ipsogen, Inc. products and services, including molecular diagnostic kits manufacturing. He is the director of the human resource department and manages the general operations of the company. Marc Essodaigui, Vice President Marketing and Sales, Europe and Asia
Marc Essodaigui studied biology, chemistry and physics at the University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France, where he obtained a Ph.D. in molecular biophysics in 1998. He studied multiple resistance for anti-tumoral drugs and conducted research for one year of at the Experimental Biology Institute in Caracas, Venezuela. He also holds a master’s in strategic marketing and politics from ADETEM, Paris, France. Prior to joining Ipsogen, Marc Essodaigui spent 4 years at Reed Elsevier in Paris, France, as Business Development Director, Biotechnology.
His main responsibilities at Ipsogen include management of Sales & Marketing operations for Oncodiagnostic products & services in Europe and Asia as well as head of marketing. Catherine Gerbon, ‘Blood Cancers’ Marketing Director
Catherine Gerbon joined Ipsogen in 2003 as blood cancer Product Manager. She now heads marketing for this series of products and manages Ipsogen's distribution network worldwide.
Catherine Gerbon has a degree in Health and Biology from the Science University of Montpellier, France and a MBA from IAE, Aix-en-Provence, France.
Catherine Gerbon has worked for several applied research laboratories prior to joining Ipsogen. Fabienne Hermitte, R&D and Regulatory Affairs Director, cofounder
Prior to co-founding Ipsogen in 1999, Fabienne Hermitte worked for a CNRS-Rhône-Poulenc team.
After 6 years as CTO in Molecular Biology, Fabienne Hermitte is currently in charge of the R&D and Regulatory Affairs of the company, being responsible for the Blood and Breast Cancer research & development programs, of external collaborations (ELN, COBRED, etc.), and also in charge of the relation with regulatory agencies (FDA, AFSSaPS) to register in vitro diagnostic tests.
She holds a Ph.D. and graduated from the IFSBM in 1997 (IGR, Villejuif, France), and the INA-PG ‘Agro’ in 1994. Susan Hertzberg, President, Ipsogen Inc. and Vice President Corporate Business Development for Ipsogen SA
During her career, Ms. Hertzberg has been a strategic driver of growth and profitability and has held many executive positions.
Immediately prior to joining Iposgen, Ms. Hertzberg served as General Manager, Global Accounts at Abbott Diagnostics.
Before that, she spent much of her career at Quest Diagnostics and progressed through many management and leadership positions, including, Vice President, Purchasing and Materials Management, and Vice President, Marketing.
Susan Hertzberg also has deep Payor experience, both on the lab and managed care side, and was a Director at Oxford Health Plans. In 1997, she received an MBA from Columbia University, NY. Denis Meshaka, Intellectual Property and Licensing Director
Denis Meshaka is in charge of Ipsogen’s intellectual propriety and licencing.
Prior to joining Ipsogen in 2002, Denis Meshaka worked as a consultant within EGYP, Intellectual Property Attorneys (Paris) where he managed IP and licensing for French research institutes including INSERM, Institut Pasteur.
Denis Meshaka also worked at Novartis (Basel, CH) where he was in charge of the galenic development portfolio for cardiovascular diseases, bone metabolism and nervous system.
He has a scientific background (molecular biology and organic chemistry). Denis Meshaka also holds a Master’s in International IP Law and a general MBA from IAE, Aix-en-Provence, France. Stanislas Piot, Chief Financial Officer
Stanislas Piot started his carrier at Worms Bank in Hong Kong, then he joined the capital market team at the Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France.
In 2000, he joined Oddo &Cie, where he specialized in IPO operations for growing stocks. In April 2003, Stanislas Piot joins Natixis where he spent 3 years prior to joining Ipsogen in 2007.
At Ipsogen Stanislas Piot currently heads the finance department. He is a graduate of University of Paris, France, with a Post Graduate Degree in Finance.
Béatrice Roger, Quality Assurance Director
Béatrice Roger is Director of Quality Assurance. She joined the company in May 2003.
She holds a Ph.D. in Health Biology from the University Montpellier 1, France and a degree in Quality-Security-Environment Management.
Prior to joining Ipsogen, Béatrice Roger worked as a biology molecular researcher within laboratories of the Pasteur Institute and INSERM.
Agnès Martinec, Lab Operations Director
Agnès Martinec, Ph.D (molecular biology) joined Ipsogen in December 2001 as a project manager in charge of the partnerships (breast cancer R&D) and Ipsogen’s services activities.
In 7 years she has acquired a great know-how in sample handling (pre-analytical processing, analysis on DNA chips, sequencing ...) and sample logistics (collection, storage and transport of samples) in national and international multicentric clinical trials.
Agnes Martinec is now Lab Operations Director responsible for the MapQuant Dx production process.
