Founded in 1999, Ipsogen is one of the first companies to focus on the booming market of cancer molecular diagnostics, with the anticipation that this technology will enable major advances in personalized treatments for cancer patients.
Since 2003, Ipsogen has been marketing its blood cancer diagnostic tests, in order to generate revenue, while strongly investing in R&D.
Molecular diagnostic for leukemia has been first used by a few expert centers in leukemia treatments – which Ipsogen is actively collaborating with – and for clinical research only.
Since 2005, this technology has been adopted for the treatment of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia, mainly for the molecular monitoring of patients who have been prescribed Glivec® that targets the BCR-ABL marker.
From then on, CE-approved Ipsogen’s tests have become a reference diagnostic solution.
Ipsogen’s product range has been growing, for instance with ‘JAK2’ tests, an important tool to identify and quantify the JAK2 V617F mutation that characterizes myeloproliferative syndromes.
In 2008, Ipsogen has oriented its blood cancer expertise and reputation towards the development and marketing of new generation diagnostic tests for breast cancer. Ipsogen’s strategy is to target specific indications which can be improved on; i.e. Ipsogen aims to improve technologies whose currently available tests might unfortunately induce suboptimal therapeutic decisions.
Aiming for the world top spot in the molecular profiling of cancer, Ipsogen's diagnostic tools will make a difference for patients, the medical profession and society including for rare diseases.
