Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is the most frequent type of leukemia in adults, accounting for about a quarter of all leukemias [Hallek M et al. Blood. 2008]. The CLLU1 gene (CLL Upregulated gene 1) was the first disease-specific gene identified in CLL [Buhl AM et al. Blood. 2006]. CLLU1 transcripts are only expressed in CLL cells.
This gene was mapped on chromosome 12q22.
Although CLLU1 function is not fully understood, studies have shown that overexpression of this gene is associated with shorter time to initiation of treatment and shorter overall survival in patients under the age of 70 years [Buhl AM et al. Eur J Haematol. 2006]. CLLU1 expression can add significant prognostic value to other techniques, including FISH analyses, IgVH mutational status, CD38 and ZAP-70, especially in patients with mutated IgVH. [Josefsson P et al. Blood. 2007, Buhl AM et al. Leukemia. 2009, Gonzales D et al. EWCCL 2009, poster].
CLLU1 ProfileQuant® kit uses Real-Time Quantitative PCR to quantify CLLU1 gene expression relative to B2M control gene.
ProfileQuant® technology gives highly reproducible, calibrated and normalized RQ-PCR results.
Peripheral blood specimen, no cell purification needed
Calibrated and sensitive quantification of CLLU1 gene expression, normalized with B2M control gene expression (results in NCN)
Product manufactured under ISO 13485 certification ensuring optimal quality control and full traceability
